The Monkey’s Paw
W. W. Jacobs

£1.50

This volume contains two short stories. The Monkey’s Paw, published in 1902, is one of the classic stories of the macabre. His writing career took time to gain momentum, and he stopped working for the Post Office Savings Bank only in 1899. Jacobs was known mostly for writing humorous tales, published most often by the magazine The Strand, and nautical romps, mostly sailors’ adventures ashore, which he wrote for Jerome K. Jerome’s The Idler. “The Toll-House” was published in 1909.
